The Tic-Tac-Toe game with moves

The objective of the game is to align three stones in a straight line formation. TAP an intersection to PLACE a stone. After placing 3 stones, SWIPE over a stone to move it to another unoccupied intersection.

Indian Tic-Tac-Toe is a traditional board game popular among children in South India. Other names of the game include ‘Nira Kali’, ‘Kallu Kali”, etc. The ancient Roman game ‘Terni Lapilli’ has stark resemblance to Indian Tic-Tac-Toe. The popularity can be attributed to the fact that the board can be drawn readily on any surface with a piece of chalk or by marking on sand.

Though the gameplay is simple and straight forward, a challenging opponent can make winning tough.

Game Play

You and the computer are given 3 stones (or pieces) each, differentiated by color. Place these stones at line-intersections on the board, one at a time, taking turns. The goal is to align the stones in a straight-line formation. The first player to align 3 stones in a straight line wins. Once all three stones are placed and no win scenario occurs, players are allowed to move the stones to connected intersections which are unoccupied. An intersection can occupy only one stone at a time and if it is occupied, another stone cannot be moved to this place.

The winning straight-line placement of stones include 8 combinations as follows:
· Top (all 3 rocks placed at intersections on the top of the board)
· Bottom (all 3 rocks placed at intersections on the bottom of the board)
· Middle Horizontal (all 3 rocks placed at intersections on the middle of the board, horizontally)
· Left (all 3 rocks placed at intersections on the left side of the board)
· Right (all 3 rocks placed at intersections on the right side of the board)
· Middle Vertical (all 3 rocks placed at intersections on the middle of the board, vertically)
· Diagonally from Left Top to Right Bottom (all 3 rocks placed in a diagonal line formation from left top to right bottom of the board)
· Diagonally from Left Bottom to Right Top (all 3 rocks placed in a diagonal line formation from left bottom to right top of the board)
